LUNA Nights 2025 presents ‘Inner, Outer, Other’

LUNA media art festival

A renewed experience of Sebastian Kite’s artwork

During the LUNA festival in Leeuwarden, the work ‘Inner, Outer, Other’ by artist Sebastian Kite was given a special stage once again. This iconic artwork, which has been shown at other festivals before, found new meaning in the atmospheric setting of LUNA Nights. With a floating mirror ball of four meters in diameter above a reflective water surface, visitors were invited to reflect on their own presence and perspective in the space.

An experience that touches

Sebastian Kite’s installation is a play of light, sound, and reflection, in which the boundary between reality and illusion blurs. As visitors moved through the space, they saw their reflection change and were taken into an ever-shifting visual and auditory landscape. This work stimulates the senses and invites contemplation and wonder.

Collaboration and innovation

That ‘Inner, Outer, Other’ could be realized again was thanks to a wonderful collaboration. LUNA Nights not only provided the space but also created the right conditions, together with technicians and artists, to allow the work to come into its own. This project is a wonderful example of how media art can gain new meaning in different contexts and how festivals like LUNA offer a platform for art that continues to inspire and connect.
