A 7-meter high, iconic Klibansky bear Artist Joseph Klibansky – known for his monumental sculptures and iconic works such as Reflections of Truth and Self-Portrait of a Dreamer – asked us to develop a pink inflatable version of his “Bare Hug”. The challenge: a 7-meter high artwork that remained true to the original design, including a complex floating leg, and yet would be practical and safe to deploy for the Zin in de Zomer festival. Publi Air translated the artwork into a textile inflatable, executed in a solid pink dye to guarantee maximum colorfastness. For the floating leg, we designed a clever transparent base that preserves the illusion of weightlessness without compromising stability. The entire design was kept as close as possible to the original: a 99% match, but in a lightweight and easy-to-handle version. The result was a real eye-catcher: a 7-meter high pink bear that towered above the festival audience and immediately attracted attention. The installation became a hit on social media and generated countless photos and videos that further increased the reach of the artwork. Klibansky’s iconic style came to life in a new, playful medium – and proved once again that inflatable art is a powerful platform for grand ideas. Tell us what you have in mind.
