Inflatable Spheres with impact for live shows

Stijn Kierkels from Management Agency MOTEL contacted Publi Air with the question of whether we could realize a logo of one of their artists, SIM-OJ, as a 3D object. Of course we can!

After a short briefing and brainstorm, we started working on this project. It was important to determine which basic product we were going to use to achieve the best result. Not only in terms of shape, but also in terms of impact value. Because making an impact is what we do.

Inflatable Sphere by Publi Air

An Inflatable Sphere was perfect for this. Together with designer Jasper van Doorn, Publi Air managed to realize the design of the SIM-OJ logo on the 3D Inflatable Sphere.

About SIM-OJ
Twelve years ago, SirOJ released his album ‘Goed Ontmoet’ with, among others, the single ‘Zo Comfortabel’. On August 1, he released the new version with a full Moluccan cast with Elijaz, Jones, Sterre, JAEL and Jiggy Djé. He did this under the name SIM-OJ, a brand new duo with producer Sim Fane. On October 13, the Noah’s Ark label also released their debut EP ‘Apocalys’.

Application Inflatable Sphere

The Inflatable Sphere that we have produced can be used in various ways. For example, it can be suspended from the ceiling, or placed on the DJ Booth. Each stage has its own dynamics and that is why a Sphere was chosen. Because of its ease of use, the plug-and-play system and the multi-deployability. For the real show effect, Publi air has applied DMX lighting. Thanks to DMX, the lighting in the Inflatable gets functions such as dimming, flashing, changing color, shaking and panning.

Designing the printing for Inflatable Spheres is a challenging task. Given that the unique design had to connect over the entire sphere, we chose to create a 3D render. After a number of test prints, we arrived at the ideal color combination. Finally, the Sphere has a solid and stable base in which the blower and DMX lighting are mounted.

ESNS – Eurosonic Noorderslag & follow-up

During the well-known ESNS- Eurosonic Nooderslag, the new “Smiley Bal” was used for the first time. Because the Inflatable Sphere was so well received, we were commissioned by Motel to design and produce a new inflatable, an inflatable moon!

This new inflatable is completely custom made and approximately 120 cm in size. Thanks to the detailed moon print and internal lighting, this has also become a real eye-catcher that can now be seen at live shows by Bente.
