18th edition GLOW Eindhoven

The GLOW Light Festival is an enchanting experience that stimulates your senses and ignites your imagination! From November 11 to 18, 2023, the 18th edition took place with the sparkling theme ‘The Beat’. During the walk along the GLOW route, you will be immersed in a world of breathtaking light artworks, fascinating installations and unique satellite projections. Each artwork is carefully designed to perfectly match the location where it is displayed. This magical tour through the city is an ode to the creativity and inspiration that the city breathes. A fantastic event in which Publi air is also involved as a partner.

Team IGNITE & Publi air

Together with Team IGNITE, we are participating in GLOW Eindhoven for the 2nd year in a row. Team IGNITE, the first Art & Tech student team in the Netherlands, focuses on showing the potential of light. To achieve this, they have set up a community with design and technology students from various backgrounds and educational institutions. It is their ambition (and we are happy to join) to train the creative engineers of the future by bridging the gap between design and technology through light design. This year we were able to assist Team IGNITE again in creating their entry for GLOW 2023, GLOWBLE!

GLOWBLE

In the fairytale-like Anne Frankplantsoen, a magical scene has unfolded: an immense sphere has descended from the sky, enveloped in brilliant light and an atmosphere that sweeps you away to an enchanting world. This mysterious object evokes such intense curiosity that you feel irresistibly drawn to discover its hidden secrets. This sphere, one of the showpieces of the GLOW festival, is much more than a work of art; it is an interactive mystery that begs to be unraveled. Each interaction reveals a new piece of its mysterious story. The sphere responds to the sound of visitors. Thanks to acoustic cameras, the collected data is creatively translated into beautiful visual animations in the sphere.

The highlight of this adventure is a visual and auditory spectacle that is guaranteed to enchant you. GLOWBLE, more than a work of art, is a symbol of the dynamic energy of the festival. Here, light and sound come together in a mesmerizing dance of colors and patterns, synchronized with the theme of GLOW: ‘The Beat’. In addition, GLOWBLE was nominated for the prestigious GLOW Talent Award. In this competition, seven student teams compete to win the coveted audience award. A tribute to innovation, creativity and the power of light. And guess what, Team IGNITE won this prize!
