Gaysorn Village, unique as the first and only urban lifestyle destination in the heart of Thailand, has created a community where like-minded people find each other in inspiration and creativity.
By collaborating with world-renowned Belgian designer Dries Van Noten, an icon among fashion lovers and recognized as one of the leading designers worldwide, and Club 21 Thailand, Gaysorn Village introduces the masterpiece ‘Fashion and Form’. This project is inspired by Dries van Noten’s jewelry collection for spring/summer 2023, transformed into beautiful works of art that can be admired throughout Gaysorn Village.
The iconic Belgian fashion designer Dries van Noten (DVN) approached Publi air to create inflatable objects for this unique collaboration between DVN and Gaysorn Village from Thailand.
“Fashion and Form” draws inspiration from the colorful glass jewelry of Dries Van Noten’s spring-summer 2023 collection. The bold light structures hang in the air, connected by winding ribbons and made of materials designed to brilliantly reflect the radiant sunlight that flows through Gaysorn Village.
The result is an interpretation of Dries Van Noten’s fragile yet robust jewelry, consisting of hand-blown glass bubbles and delicate drops, which serve as a complementary accessory to the vast open spaces within the village, drawing a parallel to the role that jewelry plays in accessorizing a beautiful outfit or look. Dries Van Noten’s impact on the fashion world is now also leaving its mark in Thailand with the exclusive installation “Fashion and Form” in Gaysorn Village.
Publi air carried out this assignment for Sarah Roux, Head of Storeplanning DVN, and Lotte Dierckx of the Interior Design department of DVN. We received a number of sketches of the “Fashion and Form” concept from DVN. Publi air took on the final production and advised on material choices, finishes, and the final dimensions.
The large jewelry objects in particular are special. We have equipped these with an internal lamp so that the effect that the jewelry has is imitated even more realistically. We have also produced these objects in a small format for a number of Gaysorn Village shop windows.
